Head of Tool and Mold Making Medical Technology (m/w/d) (m/f/d)

Spang und Brands GmbH is a successful, medium-sized family business in the medical technology sector with around 180 employees and more than 100 years of history.

We are a manufacturer of plastic components for the medical and pharmaceutical industries.

Our services include the development of articles and assemblies, the production of prototype and series tools in our own tool shop, a plastic injection moulding shop with more than 70 injection moulding machines under clean conditions, clean room assembly as well as packaging and quality assurance.

The position ‘Head of Tool and Mold Making’ reports to the Technical Managing Director.

Your tasks:

The work tasks include the following activities:

• Technical and disciplinary management of toolmaking and tool design with currently 30 employees
• Planning, monitoring and control of the design, manufacture, service and commissioning of our injection moulding and silicone tools
• Preparation of quotations for injection moulding and silicone tools as well as technical advice for our customers
• Monitoring of new tool construction projects
• Coordination of cooperation with upstream and downstream departments, cost control
• Analysis and continuous improvement of tools and processes in toolmaking
• Enthusiasm for new technologies in toolmaking and injection moulding technology

Your profile:

Qualifications:

• Successfully completed technical studies or successfully completed technical training, desirably as a tool mechanic (m/f/d) with corresponding further training as a technician (m/f/d) or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional and management experience, preferably in the toolmaking environment - ideally tools for the medical/pharmaceutical sector
• Independent and structured way of working, initiative and very good analytical and organisational skills
• Knowledge of English to support international customers
• Team and communication skills, high level of commitment and flexibility as well as strength of implementation and follow-through
